Ruidoso!

So much has happened since the last time I blogged! We finally got to meet Emerson's little cousin Sophia! She is absolutely precious and they are so adorable playing together! My best friend Lindsey got married September 26th. It was the most amazing wedding, but Emerson was not amused, she cried and cried until she finally passed out at the reception. Poor Girl :( We did make a family trip to the Texas state fair the day after the wedding (my dad and Jarrett insisted on eating everything fried you can imagine, including fried butter) it was such a fun day! Emerson loved being in her stroller and her first carousel ride! We are now approaching halloween and I am getting very excited about seeing Miss Emmy May dressed up as a big fuzzy bunny rabbit. We are going home to Burkburnett so we can take her around to see everyone and so we can have pictures with her and Sophia, who is going to be a flower. They are going to be adorable!
Jarrett, Emerson and I took a mini vacation this past weekend to Ruidoso, New Mexico. It was a really nice getaway and a great weekend with just the three of us. We had so much fun shopping and relaxing, we even made it to our first Octoberfest! That was definately interesting! I have never seen so many people doing the chicken dance! We missed my family, who usually goes every year, but it was a good trip and they can come next year for sure! :)

Like Father, Like Daughter?

We are officially entering the fall season! Jarrett has now had BOTH fantasy football drafts and the cowboys have played their first game. Football is already filling up the Tivo! When I was pregnant, Mom's friend Vicki gave us a Tony Romo onesie for Emmy to help route on our favorite team, little did I know it would become a major part of her wardrobe! Jarrett freaks out if he cannot find the onesie on game days! It's pretty hilarious actually. So I was thinking she looks like a little boy in her football jersey and she definately needed a bow. So now we have a bow to match her Romo gear! I'm pretty sure when I'm not around Jarrett takes the bow off (he thinks she will be more comfortable) Either way, she looks so adorable cheering on her cowboys! Poor girl, she never had a chance--she was born a Dallas cowboy cheerleader :)

Summer Time!

So I haven't blogged in 2 months! I am falling down on the job! :) Let me start by saying we have had quite a busy summer! Emerson is just growing so fast I can't believe it! She is 6 months old now! We have had a few more firsts since my last blog as well! We have 2 bottom teeth and I think there are more coming very soon! Emerson also rode a horse for the first time a couple weeks ago. Not by herself of course, but strapped on to mom, we took my old barrel horse Casey for a spin around the pasture. She really enjoyed herself! She does have it in her blood after all, she is my daughter! We have also been enjoying our pool! Emerson is loving the water and her little baby float! Emmy has discovered that she can get around by rolling all over the place! She really wants to crawl, but is not quite ready. It's really cute watching her try to figure everything out. I have recently started looking for a halloween costume! Early I know, but I just can't wait to get her dressed up! Right now I'm thinking maybe a lamb or a fuzzy little bunny :) We will be taking christmas pictures here in a couple weeks which I am really excited about! We are going to use Devon of course, so I am super excited about that! I know we will get some great shots! Well, I guess that's all for now, but I am going to try to keep up with the blogging more!

Fourth of July

For the Fourth of July we had some friends over to cookout and swim! Emerson was in good company with her friends Carson (5 mths) and Addison (8 mths). Emmy has only been swimming one other time and the water was very cold so she really got to enjoy the pool and hottub yesterday! She was such a good girl and had a great time!
Since the last time I posted Emmy has started teething! Her front bottom teeth have started poking through on the bottom! It is absolutely adorable! She is also starting to roll over from her front to her back and is trying very hard to roll completely over. It won't be much longer before we are chasing her all over the house! She is also eating rice cereal, which she loves! I think she gets more on herself than in her mouth at this point, but that's ok! :) We are enjoying watching her learn and grow! Everyday is something wonderful and new!

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend we went to Burkburnett to visit Nana and Grandpa! We had a great time and Emerson got to go to her first wedding shower! It was Melissa Green's shower and I was hosting so mom brought Emmy to show her off :) Monday, we went over to our friends Shane and Jessica's to cookout and hang out with their little girl, Addison and Cory and Leslie's little boy, Rylan. They are still a little young to play together, but it will come soon enough! We had such a good time and got some wonderful pictures!

Mother's Day

May 10, 2009 was a very special day for me! It was my first Mother's day! Jarrett and Emerson made it a very special one! First off I was a little sad that I had to work the whole weekend, but some gorgeous roses were delivered to me on Saturday which really made my day! Also, when I arrived home Jarrett had cooked dinner! On Sunday morning Bill and Marsha went to church with us for Emerson's dedication. There were about 60 babies and I'm pretty sure Emerson was to smallest of the bunch! She behaved like a perfect little angel! I missed getting to see my mom on Mother's day because they were traveling back from their anniversary trip to Las Vegas, so we will have to have a make-up day! :) Emerson is almost 3 months old now and I can't believe how fast she is growing! Jarrett let her taste a popsicle last night and she absolutely loved it! She kept sticking out her tongue and smiling! It's amazing how entertaining she can be!

Today is Easter and it was Miss Emerson's first trip to church! We were a little nervous about taking her, but she was a perfect angel! Bill and Marsha went with us and then to lunch at the country club afterwards. She was good there too! She must have known how pretty she looked in her Easter dress!

6 weeks old

I can't believe our little Miss Emerson is now 6 weeks old! She is growing up so fast! She is almost 9 lbs now and is starting to smile and coo at us! I am getting very sad to go back to work in about a week and a half :( but I know she will be in great hands with her MeeMee and Papa. I'm getting excited about Easter because it will be our first trip to church with her and I'm sure she will behave wonderfully! We also have baby dedication on Mother's Day so that will be very special for us as well. We had Devon take some pictures of her when we went to Burk last time and they are absolutely adorable! She was 4 weeks old at the time and she couldn't have been a better model! :) She just laid there like a perfect angel! Devon said she was the most well-behaved baby she had ever photographed! That's our little Emmy! She's such a good girl :)

First Trip to Burkburnett

Last weekend was Emerson's first road trip! We went to my parent's house in Burkburnett to introduce her to the rest of my family! We surprised my MeeMee and Grandpa and brought her over to their house as soon as we got in town! They were very surprised and we all had a nice visit. Emerson really enjoyed meeting everyone! My mom is extremely prepared and had all the essentials for us so we didn't have to bring every little thing. Devon also came over and took some pictures for us, I can't wait to see them! I know them will be adorable! All in all it was a wonderful weekend and Emerson was a very good girl! She slept in the car the whole way there and back!

Photo Session

My mom and dad came in town this weekend and we finally found some clothes that are small enough for Emerson to wear! So of course we had to take a few pictures! She got a little irritated with us changing her outfits, but she just looked so darn cute! And of course Jackie had to get in on the fun!
