I think I may have a very spoiled little girl on my hands! :) She is having not one, but 2 parties to celebrate her 1st birthday! We went home to Nana and Grandpa's last weekend and they surprised us with a little pre-birthday party for her! We are having her party here on Feb.13th, but mom wanted to have one so my MeeMee and Grandy and Aunt and Uncle would be able to come! It was so adorable with a Dora cake, balloons and cupcakes! Unfortunately the party princess was not feeling too well, we were having to give her breathing treatments, but she still found a way to enjoy eating one of her cupcakes! It was wonderful and so much fun! Mom bought her this adorable party hat..which she promptly decided she wanted nothing to do with. Oh well, maybe we can convince her to wear it for her next party!

The Big Texan
Jaymee, Maui and Sophia came to visit us last weekend! For months the guys have been talking about going to the Big Texan and eating the 72 ounce steak. Maui really wanted to do it and Jarrett thought he did until it came time to go. We get to the restaurant and they quickly decide they made the right decision, watching the poor guy up on stage trying to eat it was proof enough! So they decided they would still order big steaks, just not the 72 ouncer--the waiter said you either have to be crazy or stupid to take it on. It really shows you just how much that guy from Man vs Food can eat! Food challenge or no food challenge we still had a great time and we got some adorable pictures! Unfortunately the Madonnas have to go back to Italy today :( We are going to miss them so much! I am so excited to go visit them in May though! Wonder if they have any food challenges in Italy??

Pancakes!
When my sister and I were little, my Grandfather, Wally would always make us Mickey Mouse pancakes when we would come stay for the weekend. I remember thinking just how awesome it was that he could actually make breakfast look like a mouse. So in Honor of Wally I decided I would start our own tradition and make Emmy "initial" pancakes. I made them once before when she was not quite eating solid foods yet, so I decided to try again since I was having a craving for pancakes myself. It was actually quite hilarious. The first try was terrible, the E looked nothing like it was supposed to, but the second E was much better. I was so excited for Emmy to try my banana "E" pancake! I carefully took it and placed it on her highchair and she promptly grabbed it and threw it on the floor! I couldnt believe it! All my hard work...on the floor :( So I quickly swept it up (3 second rule) and tore it in pieces for her, which she proceeded to take 2 bites and yell for her cereal. Oh well, guess I was a little premature on the whole pancake idea, but I'm not giving up! She will love them soon enough! :)

New Year's Resolution
Ok so my New Year's resolution is to blog more! I have gotten so bad and I have decided I must keep up with it more! So here goes nothing! My goal is to blog once a week--if I can get every 2 weeks I will be happy though :) We have just been so busy this year! Time really does fly when you're having fun, or when you have a baby! :) Speaking of Emerson, we had an absolutely wonderful holiday. We were very fortunate to make it through the blizzard of 2009 to my parents for Christmas. Only after 9 hours and some serious prayer we all made it in tact and had a wonderul time! Thank God for 4 wheel drive!! It was Emmy's first Christmas and my first white Christmas! After returning from my parents we made the trek to Borger for some quality time with MeMe and Papa! Both Christmases were wonderful and full of memories, we are very blessed to have such an amazing family! New Year's eve was fun as well. We decided to stay home and hibernate with our Emmy. Jarrett bought us a bottle of Dom and some sushi, we made a fire and watched the ball drop. It doesnt get much better than that! So here are a few pictures to update what we have been doing the past few months. I cannot believe Emmy is about to be 1 year old! It amazes me everyday how fast she is growing. So here's to resolutions and a happy, wonderful, fabulous 2010!
